Legal Entity Identity Code (LEI) applications can be made faster and easier now. The renewed LEI Portal enables a much more practical application with a new user-friendly interface by automatically retrieving the legal entity information from the Central Registry System and transferring it to the LEI.
The new LEI code application, renewal, transfer, monitoring and updating procedures of legal entities are carried out faster and more efficiently through the website www.leiturkiye.com with the new portal.
Takasbank produces these codes in accordance with ISO 17442 standards for local and foreign legal entities applying for LEI codes. Local and foreign legal entities who have already obtained the LEI code from authorized institutions residing in another country can take advantage of the renewal cost and transfer their LEI codes to Takasbank free of charge.

What is the Legal Entity Identifier (LEI) and where is it used?
The LEI code, which is an identification number unique to companies operating in financial markets, plays an important role in reporting to data warehouse organizations, especially in the framework of ensuring that over-the-counter derivatives transactions are carried out in a more efficient and risk-free structure.
According to the legal regulations of our country, it is obligatory for organizations that are parties to all types of futures and options contracts and companies that issue capital market instruments to obtain an LEI code.
Consisting of 20 digits, the LEI code belongs only to the legal entity assigned and is an identification number that is valid at national and international level. It is thought that the LEI code will be used in many different areas, especially in banking, in the future.
