European Central Securities Depositories Association (ECSDA) Membership
Takasbank became a member of European Central Securities Depositories Association in 2006 which is an association established to form mutually beneficial joint projects and to exchange views among central settlement and custody institutions.
ECSDA has 39 members most of whom are from the European Union (EU) member states. ECSDA’s aim is to provide consultancy and offer solutions regarding technical, economic, financial and legal problems in capital markets. ECSDA carries out its activities with a view to reduce the risk in cash movements and increase efficiency relating to custody, pre-settlement and settlement in line with the benefits of issuers, investors and other market participants in European countries.
Association of National Numbering Agencies (ANNA) Membership
Association of National Numbering Agencies is an international organization with members in 73 countries worldwide. National numbering agencies assigned with allocation of ISIN code to securities in their countries can become a member of this organization.
Takasbank, being an active member of ANNA since 1995 as the national numbering agency of our country, is serving for the last two years as the Chairman of Board of Directors of ANNA Service Bureau (ASB). ASB aims at the collection of International Securities Identification Number (ISIN) and basic securities information worldwide via Internet and offers them as a product to financial institutions.
ASB is a central database of which the installation and operation has been executed by Standard&Poor’s and Telekurs with the assignment of ANNA General Assembly. It renders services about the collection of ISIN codes and related data record from National Numbering Agencies and their distribution to global financial markets. ASB database as being the largest ISIN database worldwide constitutes a very valuable source of information for international finance markets.
ISO TC68/SC4 Membership
Takasbank represents Turkey on behalf of the Turkish Standards Institute (TSE) at ISO TC68/SC4 committee with International Standards Organization (ISO), which develops the international standards on “Securities and related Financial Instruments”.
Takasbank acts as the Chairman of National Market Study Group (TSE-Mirror Committee), which was formed within this framework. Mirror Committee is a committee established for the active participation of all related parties to the preparation activities of regional and international standards regarding securities, to inform all concerned parties regarding such activities as well as to secure a place for Turkey in securities field in international and regional standards by establishing official country vote.
Federation of Eurasian Exchanges (FEAS) Membership
Takasbank is a member of the Federation of Euro-Asian Stock Exchanges (FEAS) in “Affiliate Member” status. With this membership, Takasbank was able to further develop its existing relations and cooperation with the other settlement and custody institutions within FEAS region. By acting as the Chairman of Working Group established within FEAS, Takasbank has the opportunity to share its international knowledge and know-how with member countries.
ISSA Membership
Takasbank is a member of the International Securities Services Association (ISSA) which is a private sector organization aiming to promote progress and transparency in the securities services industry, to increase the professional knowledge of securities industry participants and the investment community and to work together with other financial sector industry organisations. |
