Takasbank is a sector specific investment bank where ISE and 87 members of ISE are shareholders and which does not accept saving deposits. Pursuant to the bank’s articles of association, no shareholder other than ISE can hold a share of more than 5 percent. As of March 2007 Takasbank’s paid-in capital is 60.000.000 YTL where ISE holds %32,63, 19 banks hold %34,48 and 67 brokerage houses hold %32,89.
The Board of Directors is composed of 11 people comprising the representatives of Capital Markets Board (CMB), ISE, members of ISE and the General Manager of the Bank. Chairman of ISE is the Chairman of Board of Directors. Four of Board Members represent the A Class of shares controlled by ISE.
B Class of shares is represented with five members at the Board (2 members represent the banks, 2 members represent the brokerage houses and 1 member is the one who is elected by getting the highest votes among them at the General Assembly). One Board Member is appointed by CMB as CMB representative. The General Manager of Takasbank is the natural member of the Board.
